The Beginners Plus course (A0>A2) has been specially developed for students who are native speakers of German or Afrikaans. If it’s possible, we will make groups exclusively for au pairs and/or international students. The beginners Plus course is a course at double the pace of a regular course.
The Beginners Plus course teaches you more about the Dutch language and culture by exploring all sorts of themes and subjects. You will learn Dutch by playing various games, listening to stories and completing texts.
A popular theme is Dutch food, but national holidays, the provinces – with their specific characteristics – and the seasons will also be covered.
The course consists of 13 lessons of 2 hours and 15 minutes each in the morning (9.30-11.45 AM) or in the evening (7.15 – 9.30 PM).
Every lesson there will be homework. This will cost the student about 5 hours’ time. The total study load is 7,5 hours per week.
At the end of the course all students do an exam both written and oral. They all receive a certificate of participation (80% presence needed) and an exam result.
Personal attention for the students is important. The maximum number of participants is 8-12 depending on the classroom.
The textbook ‘Kom gauw binnen’ and the grammarbook ‘Het Fundament’ are provided for the first lesson.
