The Beginners Plus course (A0>A2) is developed for students who are native German and Afrikaans speakers. The Beginners Plus course is at a higher pace than the Beginners Basic course.
The Beginners Plus course teaches you more about the Dutch language and culture by exploring all sorts of themes and subjects. You will learn Dutch by playing various games, listening to stories and completing texts.
The course consists of 13 lessons of 2 hours and 15 minutes each in the morning (9.30-11.45 AM) or in the evening (7.15 – 9.30 PM).
After every lesson, there will be homework. Homework can cost you about 5 hours per week. The total study load is around 7,5 hours per week.
The course will be completed with an exam, which has written and spoken components. At the end of the course, you will receive a certificate of participation (80% presence needed) and an exam result.
Taalthuis values personal attention for all participants. Therefore, the maximum number of participants in a face-to-face class is 12, and 8 in an online class.
The textbook ‘Kom gauw binnen‘ and the grammar book ‘Het Fundament‘ are handed out during the first lesson. If you are in an Online course, you will receive your books at your home address before the start of the course.
