Which Dutch course is right for you? 

I have no knowledge of the Dutch language, and I have never taken a Dutch course before.

I have no knowledge of the Dutch language,  I have never taken a Dutch course before, and a full course does not fit my schedule at the moment.

I am a native German speaker, and I have never taken a Dutch course before.

I am a native Afrikaans speaker, and I have never taken a Dutch course before.

What do I need to know for which course? 

What do I need to know for the Beginners Basic course (A0>A1)?

What do I need to know for the fast paced Beginners Plus course (A0->A2)?

  • Your native language is German or Afrikaans.
  • You must be able to understand a lot of Dutch. The teacher will speak Dutch from the start. The teacher only switches to English if things are not clear and need more explanation.
  • You should be able to speak a little Dutch.

What do I need to know for an Intermediate course starting at A1 ?

  • You must be able to converse at a basic level A1 using personal, possessive, and demonstrative pronouns
  • You must be able to put sentences in the present tense and in the perfect tense
  • You must be able to use coordinating conjunctions, negation, adjectives, and plural form
  • Check your level here

What do I need to know for an Advanced course starting at A2?

  • You must be able to converse at A2-level using more complex sentences using for example the subordinate conjugation ‘omdat’ , the construction with ‘om te …’
  • You must be able to use the word ‘er’
  • You must be able to put sentences in all tenses
  • You must be able to use separable and reflexive verbs and verbs with fixed prefixes

What do I need to know for an High Advanced course starting at B1?

  • You must be able to converse at B1-level using more complex sentences using all subordinate conjugations, the construction with ‘om te …’
  • You must be able to use the word ‘er’
  • You must be able to put sentences in all tenses
  • You must be able to use separable and reflexive verbs and verbs with fixed prefixes
  • You must be able to use the relative pronoun
  • You must be able to use indirect speech
  • You must be able to use the verb ‘zouden’

What do I need to know for a To Perfection course starting at B2?

  • You must be able to converse at B2-level using more complex sentences using all subordinate conjugations, the construction with ‘om te …’ and using structure words such as ‘naarmate’, ‘daarentegen’
  • You must be able to use the word ‘er’
  • You must be able to put sentences in all tenses
  • You must be able to use separable and reflexive verbs and verbs with fixed prefixes
  • You must be able to use the relative pronoun
  • You must be able to use indirect speech
  • You must be able to use the verb ‘zouden’ and ‘zullen’
  • You must be able to give your opinion, to file a complaint, to make a summary
