High Advanced Course B1-B2 part 1 & part 2
The focus of the High Advanced course (B1>B2) is to improve your vocabulary, accent and intonation, spelling and sentence structure. You will be working towards level B2. By playing games, listening to stories, by completing and writing texts, you will extend your vocabulary and learn to speak and write better Dutch. The lessons will cover news topics (newspapers), art, culture and literature.
The course consists of a total of 28 lessons of 2 hours and 15 minutes each morning (9.30- 11.45 AM) or evening (7.15-9.30 PM). Part 1 consists of 14 lessons and part 2 consists of 14 lessons. Lessons are once a week.

You can also schedule an appointment via our website. We can’t guarantee a switch to a different level if, after the beginning of the course, a different level turns out to be better for you.
High Advanced B1-B2 part 1
In the first part of the course, we will cover chapters 1 – 3 of the book Nederlands op niveau . After following part 2, you will achieve level B2. You can buy the book we use at Coutinho.nl
High Advanced B1-B2 part 2
In the second part of the High Advanced course (B1>B2) you will talk about current topics, expand your vocabulary, and improve your writing skills. Chapters 4-6 of the lesson book Nederlands op niveau will be covered. After attending part 2 of the course, you will reach B2 level.
After every lesson, there will be homework. This will take about 6 hours’ time. The total study load is 8,5 hours per week.
It’s possible to buy an extra grammar module for higher levels. The online grammar module contains information from the Taalthuis grammar book combined with many exercises to put your knowledge into practice.
The course ends with a Taalthuis exam, which has both speaking and writing components. You will receive a certificate of attendance (80% presence needed) and an exam result after finishing the course.
Taalthuis values personal attention. The maximum number of participants is therefore 9.
