To Perfection (B2- C1) part 1 & 2
The focus of the To Perfection (B2>C1) course is improving vocabulary, accent and intonation and spelling and sentence structure. You will be working towards level C1. By means of playing games, listening to stories and completing and writing texts, your vocabulary is extended and you will learn to speak and write better Dutch. The lessons will cover news topics (newspapers), art and culture and literature.
Both parts of the course consist of 28 lessons of 2 hours and 15 minutes each, either in the morning (9.30- 11.45 AM) or evening (7.15-9.30 PM). The course has part 1 of 14 lessons and part 2 of 14 lessons. The lessons are once a week.
New students: For part 1 the intake is at B2 level and for part 2 the intake is at C1.1 level. Please contact us: +31 (0) 23-3040023. Our level check consultation hours are every Tuesday or Thursday afternoon between 14:00 and 17:00. You can also schedule an appointment via our website. We can’t guarantee a switch to a different level if, after the beginning of the course, a different level turns out to be better for you.
To Perfection (B2- C1) part 1
In the first part of the course To Perfection (B2>C1) you will:
- expand your vocabulary
- talk about current affairs in Dutch
- improve your Dutch writing skills.
We will cover Chapters 1-4 of the lesson book Nederlands naar perfectie. (To reach level C1, you should also take part 2 of this course.)

To Perfection (B2- C1) part 2
In the second part of the course To Perfection (B2 > C1) you talk about current topics, expand your vocabulary and improve your writing skills in Dutch.
Chapter 5 – 7 of the lesson book Nederlands naar Perfectie will be covered. Only after following part 2, you will reach level C1.
Every lesson there will be homework. This will cost you about 6 hours time. The total study load is 8,5 hours per week.
It’s possible to buy an extra grammar module for the higher levels. The online grammar module (A1-A2) contains information from the Taalthuis grammar book combined with many exercises to put your knowledge into practice. The grammar module can be purchased at the checkout while registering.
At the end of the course, all students do a Taalthuis exam which has a written and an oral component. You receive a certificate of attendance (80% presence needed) and an exam result.
We value personal attention. The maximum number of participants in a group is therefore 9.
